What is Kvas?
Traditional Kvas is a carbonated, brewed-drink that is based on the fermentation of baked breads(typically from rye) with added herbs and sugar. It is a very distant cousion of beer.
However, unlike beer, Traditional Kvas is non-alcholic and is very popular throughtout Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Modern-variations of Kvas are available side-by-side with other, less-traditional Soft Drinks.
The drink is so popular in these areas, that Coca Cola and Pepsi are now producing their own variations of this traditional drink.
